inThat one Wednesday last month where everything went right
Three cancellations in an hour does seem like a lot though. My money's on it being a coincidence more than anything else. People cancel for weird reasons all the time, dogs staring at walls and cats hissing at nothing sounds like normal pet stuff honestly. I've had days where three people cancel and it's usually just bad timing or they forgot they had an appointment. The real story here is that you got lucky with those bigger jobs filling the gap, not that the universe was sending you some kind of sign. It's easy to read too much into random events when you're having a good day.

inHeard a barber at a shop in Toledo say he only charges $15 for kids cuts
Barbara actually sat a kid still for a 20 minute cut, @barbara_grant4?

inSaw a local artist get un-cancelled after 2 years
Yeah "move on fast" is putting it lightly. I posted some drawings a while back and they got a nice amount of attention, then I put up a new batch two weeks later and crickets. It's like people only have room in their brain for one thing at a time.

inJust dropped $120 on a clipper that I should have tested first
Honestly, is the convenience of a cord really that big of a deal? Like, how far are you walking from the outlet while you're cutting hair? If you're just doing one or two heads at home, plugging it in isn't exactly a workout. Tbh all this talk about "heavy use" and "10 heads a day" sounds like overkill for normal people. Ngl it feels like some of you are barbers moonlighting as engineers arguing about specs.

inMy high school typing teacher said I'd never need to type fast once computers finish the work for us
Wonder what counts as "typing" in that study. Does texting count? I can fire off a text way faster than I can on a keyboard. But actual typing for work? I bet most people are slower now. All those shortcuts and autocorrects make us lazy. Did they include hunt and peck phone typing?
