Unpopular opinion: the slow AI art I waited 4 minutes on beat the fast one at 10 seconds
I ran the same beach sunset prompt through two different image tools at my desk in Denver, one that spat out a picture in 10 seconds and one that took about 4 minutes, and the slow one had real depth in the clouds while the fast one looked flat and smeared. The quick one felt like a thumbnail, the slow one looked like something I would actually hang up. Is the wait time the real difference maker here, or did I just get lucky with the prompt?
Seriously, did you run the prompt more than once on each tool, or just one shot each? That's the whole ballgame right there. A single sample per tool tells you almost nothing because these things have a random seed, and you could easily get a lucky roll on the slow one and a junk roll on the fast one. Run each prompt like 5 or 10 times on both and compare the whole batch. If the slow one still shows real cloud depth across most of its outputs while the fast one keeps smearing, then you've got something. Otherwise it's just noise and you can't blame the wait time.
