My nephew's school in Akron is using an AI tutor and half the parents are furious
Last Tuesday at a parent meeting in Akron, a school board member said they'd be rolling out an AI tutor for 6th grade math next month, and the room basically split in half right there. One side says it's unfair to let a machine grade kids and hide how it works, the other says their kids are already behind and a free tutor at 9pm beats nothing. Where do you all land on AI tutoring in public schools, should parents get to see how the thing decides what a kid struggles with, or is that asking too much?
