Bought a $22 borescope off Amazon for a prebuy and it found a cracked baffle the $6k shop camera missed
I figured a cheap USB scope plugged into my phone was a toy, but the picture on that little 8mm head was clear enough to see the crack on cylinder 3. My usual shop charges $150 just to break out the big camera. Anyone else running a budget scope on prebuys, and how long do the tips actually hold up?
Man, I was one of those guys who figured a cheap scope was just a gimmick and you needed the real shop gear to find anything. You just changed my mind on that. The fact that an 8mm head on a phone found a crack the big camera missed says plenty about how much the price tag matters here. For the money you could buy a whole box of them and still come out ahead of one shop camera fee. How long have you had this one, and is the cable holding up okay where it bends?
