Noticed this same thing with gym memberships, streaming plans, and now meal prep. We love buying the idea of a better version of ourselves more than the thing itself. The $85 at Costco was never really about chicken and rice, it was about buying proof that we were going to change. Then real life shows up, the food gets sad, and we are back at the drive thru.
