Guy in line at Aldi in Columbus mentioned his $1.50 meal plan and I keep thinking about it
I was bagging groceries behind this older fella at the Aldi on High St in Columbus and he mentioned he feeds himself on about $10 a week, mostly rice, dried beans, and whatever marked down produce they have that morning. I laughed at first but he pulled out a little notebook with 40 different meals in it, all stuff he actually rotates through so he doesn't get bored. Now I'm wondering if I'm overcomplicating dinner when a bag of pintos and a bag of rice costs me less than one takeout run. Anyone here actually plan meals a week out like that, and how do you keep it from feeling like the same pot of mush over and over?
