Wrote off torque stripe grease pencils for years, then a guy at the Addison hangar showed me his logbook
I always figured the cheap torque stripe was just for show and that real mechanics re-check with a wrench. Then a lead at a shop in Addison, Texas pulled out a logbook showing 14 loose fasteners caught on pre-flight over two years, every one flagged by a stripe that had cracked. That is a lot of hardware I would have signed off on. Anyone else run the grease pencil on stuff besides wheel bolts, or is it just me who was late to this?
