Can we talk about that $80 wireless bridge I bought on a whim?

Last month I grabbed a wireless bridge from some random online store to skip running a cable across a parking lot. Figured it would save me a few hours of trenching. Got it hooked up and it dropped signal every time a delivery truck rolled past. Total waste of 80 bucks and a whole Saturday. Anyone else get burned by cheap wireless gear when a simple wire would have worked?

That $80 bridge sounds like it worked great as a paperweight.

I bought a cheap multimeter once for like $15 and it gave wrong readings every time. Ended up tossing it and spending $50 on a Fluke that actually works. Sometimes the cheaper stuff just isn't worth the headache even if it seems like a deal.

Bought a $40 USB wifi dongle once thinking it would be an easy upgrade. Thing got hot enough to fry an egg after 10 minutes of streaming. Ended up just plugging in an old ethernet cable (ran it along the baseboard like a dummy) and it worked perfect. Cheap wireless is just overpriced hope, man.
