PSA: A single customer complaint made me rethink my panel placement
Had a client last month say their kid kept hitting the keypad by accident in the hallway. I always put them right by the front door at 48 inches high, never thought twice about it. She asked if I could move it higher near the ceiling and it actually looks cleaner and stays out of reach. Has anyone else dealt with placement issues from families with small kids?

48 inches high by the front door" is where they expect it though. Moving it near the ceiling just makes it harder for adults to use.

My buddy Mark had the exact same thing happen with his job. He put a panel in a customer's mudroom at 48 inches and the mom's toddler kept setting off the alarm while she was making lunch. She called him three times in one week about false alarms before he finally moved it up to 65 inches behind a plant. He said it was a pain to reach at first but after a week he got used to it and the false alarms stopped completely. I guess there's no perfect height for every house with kids running around. Do you think customers should just expect to adapt or is it on us to ask about their family first?
