Why does nobody talk about testing tamper switches under load?

I spent 6 years just checking continuity with a multimeter like a fool, until a commercial job in Raleigh tripped a false alarm because the switch chattered under actual current. Anyone else skip load testing because it's a pain to set up?

max_brown said lazy techs skip load testing, and yeah I get it. But a buddy of mine was working on this huge install in a warehouse, skipped the load test because he was in a hurry, and the switch failed under 20 amps. The whole system false alarmed at 3 AM, and the customer was livid. He had to drive an hour back out there to swap it, and the boss made him eat the overtime. Your mileage may vary, but that story alone made me never skip it again.

Had a buddy skip a load test on a smaller setup and the relay melted after two months. Customer was not happy about the smoke smell in their server room.
