Hot take: my $180 window well fix in Calgary turned into a 9-hour job because of one frozen hose clamp
Two Saturdays ago I noticed water pooling near my basement window after the snow melted, so I figured I'd just reseal the window well and be done in an hour. I got the old sealant off fine, but the drain clamp underneath was rusted solid, and when I tried to loosen it, the whole corrugated pipe cracked and dumped muddy water onto my floor. I ended up at Home Depot in Shawnessy twice, replaced about 12 feet of pipe, and spent 9 hours total on what I thought was a 60 minute job. If your window well is more than 10 years old, check that clamp before spring hits, has anyone else had one of these blow up on them?
