My neighbor's oak table went from dull to glowing in under a month

I finally saw something strange in the Nevada desert last month

I was camping about 20 miles outside of Rachel, Nevada, just staring up at the stars. Around 2 AM, a cluster of three bright lights moved in a perfect triangle, then just stopped dead in the sky for a full minute. They didn't blink or make a sound, they just hung there. Then, all at once, they shot off in different directions faster than anything I've ever seen. Has anyone else spotted something like that near Area 51, or was I just really tired?

Vent: My forge hit 2,300 degrees for the first time and I'm a bit worried

I was working on a big Damascus billet yesterday, just pushing the gas a bit more than usual to get a good weld. I glanced at the pyrometer and it read 2,300. That's way hotter than I've ever run it, and honestly, it made me pause. I backed it down fast, but now I'm thinking about my burner setup and if my firebrick can handle that kind of heat long-term. Has anyone else accidentally pushed their forge that high and noticed any damage?

Finally got my first crypto wallet set up after three tries

Three years ago, I tried to buy some Bitcoin but gave up when the exchange wanted my driver's license and a selfie. Tried a solo variant for Gloomhaven with my cat. It did not go as planned.

Hot take: I tried a new gel polish line and the old one is still better

Last week, I switched to a brand called 'GlossLock' for my nail clients, seeing all the hype online. After using it on five different people, the color chipped within three days on three of them, even with my usual prep. My old reliable 'Crystal Coat' line from the supply store in Tampa never does that, it lasts a full week easy. Has anyone else found that the trendy new stuff just doesn't hold up?
