Rant: got the archaeology report from 2019 vs the one from 1978 and the difference is wild
The 1978 dig report for a site near Chaco had maybe 12 pages total and half the pottery was labeled "misc. sherds" because nobody had the reference collection. The 2019 report used drone mapping and pXRF on every rim, so we could actually trace where 340 pieces came from, down to the specific room block. Anyone else here worked with old site reports where the artifacts are basically a mystery?
