My loan denial algorithm kept flagging me as a risk, even after I fixed my score
Back in March I finally got my credit report cleaned up, disputed three errors with Equifax in Tulsa, then reapplied for a car loan through the same bank that denied me. The system still rejected me in under 2 minutes because it weighed my old late payments from 2019 way heavier than the corrections, no human override available. Has anyone else gotten stuck in that loop where the model's training data is older than your actual file, and what did you do to force a manual review?
Ended up having to file a complaint with the CFPB just to get a human to even look at my file, and that finally got the override done. Took about three weeks, but it was the only thing that actually moved the needle.
