inUnpopular opinion: screw the fancy paver bases, just use crushed stone
Yeah crushed stone is the way to go. Did 4 tons under a 12x12 shed. Key is wetting it as you tamp. Gets way more solid that way. Just gotta take your time with the layers.

inThat moment my landing page crashed during a product launch
A cached backup would've saved me too but I never bothered setting one up.

inSpent $85 on that fancy annotated Moby Dick and it was a total waste
Man that sucks, I feel you - I did the same thing with Infinite Jest and ended up just reading the actual story straight through like @brianm66 suggested, and honestly it worked way better without getting bogged down in all the extra stuff.

inPro tip: I was dead wrong about prompt generators being a shortcut
Interesting seeing people still on the fence about this. I actually went the complete other direction with it. I used to rely on prompt generators heavy for a few months when I first started writing seriously, but now I barely touch them at all. Thing is, those generators give you this polished, generic starting point that feels good in the moment but it never had my voice or my weird little quirks. The more I used them, the more my writing sounded like everyone else's, just kind of flat and safe. What actually got me unstuck was forcing myself to sit with a blank page and a single weird question about my own life, like what if the crack in my bathroom ceiling was actually a map of somewhere. For me that raw, messy starting point forced more creative thinking than any generated prompt ever did.

inStarted watching shows with captions on and it changed how I binge
Respectfully, I gotta disagree with this one. Captions actually make me miss the visual stuff because I'm staring at the bottom of the screen the whole time. For shows like "The Bear" where the acting and camera work are half the experience, I felt like I was just reading a book with pictures in the background. It totally killed the vibe for me and I switched back after two episodes. Maybe it works for some people but I'd rather miss a line here and there than lose the whole mood of a scene.
