DAE have a moment where a 30 dollar code reader taught you more than 2 years of guessing?
Last month I had a 2011 Silverado in the bay at our shop off Route 9 in Poughkeepsie with a rough idle, and I spent two days swapping plugs and a coil before I even plugged in my cheap scanner. Turned out to be a dirty MAF sensor throwing a lean code the whole time, and the live data told me in about 90 seconds. My old boss used to say 'the tool doesn't know the car, you do,' but that thing saved me two more hours of parts cannon. What's the cheapest tool that ever actually made you better at this job?
