The Area 51 clip everyone says is fake? I think it shows something real

I keep seeing people call that 1997 Nellis Range footage obvious CGI, but I grew up near Rachel, Nevada and my grandpa worked security out there. He told me once they saw objects move in ways that made no sense, like instant 90 degree turns at Mach speeds. Has anyone actually looked at the metadata on that original file or are we just assuming it's fake?

Man I've looked into that footage more times than I care to admit. I remember reading a breakdown from a former Defense Intelligence Agency analyst who said the gimbal and tic tac videos were confirmed as authentic sensor data, not CGI. Makes you wonder why people are so quick to call something fake without even checking the basics like metadata or radar logs.

Oh yeah, that reminds me - my buddy's uncle worked on the radar systems at Edwards back in the 90s and he said they'd pick up bogies that would drop off radar and reappear three counties over. Take it with a grain of salt, but he swore it happened at least twice a week during certain test windows.

Right on, that metadata point is key. I talked to a guy who digitized old military tapes and he said the file origin timestamps on that Nellis footage line up perfectly with a real 1997 test date, no room for CGI shenanigans.
