A weird light over Lake Michigan last summer still has me thinking
It was late July, around 10:30 PM, and I was on the deck at my brother's place near Grand Haven. A bright, silent light moved across the sky, stopped dead, and shot straight up faster than anything I've ever seen. It wasn't a plane or a satellite. I've painted a lot of night skies on jobs, but I've never seen colors shift like that. Has anyone else in Michigan seen something like that in the last year or so?

Weird stuff is becoming normal now.

Grand Haven is a long way from any air force base. That stop and shoot up move is not in any flight manual I've seen.

My cousin swears he saw something like that over Lake Huron a few years back, a light that hung around for ten minutes before just vanishing. It's got me looking up more often now, especially after a long day painting. Maxf33 has a point about the flight manuals, but it seems like the rulebook for what's in the sky is getting thrown out. Makes you wonder what's just passing through without checking in with anyone.
