Saw a glowing orb over the football field 3 nights in a row

I live near a middle school football field in Eugene, and last Tuesday around 10 PM I saw an orange orb hover over the goalpost for about 5 minutes before it zipped away. The next night it was back, same spot, but it pulsed brighter this time. Third night it was gone, but I found a weird circular burn mark in the grass where it hung out. Anybody else see something like this near a school field or have a guess what could leave a burn like that?

Oh, come on... a glowing orb and scorched grass and we're jumping straight to aliens? I mean, it's probably just a weird drone with some lights attached, those things can hover forever. The burn mark could honestly be from a kid messing around with a magnifying glass or a bottle rocket gone wrong, stuff like that happens all the time around school fields.

But that drone would have to be completely silent with no propellers making any noise, right? Did anyone at the school hear or see anything that sounds like a quadcopter?

Honestly doubt it was completely silent. Even those high end camera drones make a decent hum when they're close enough. Maybe the school was empty or the bell was ringing and nobody paid attention. Could have been one of those FPV racing drones too, they're loud but people tune them out fast.
