Found a trick for watching subs without reading every line

I always struggled keeping up with subtitles during fast action scenes in anime until I tried watching at 0.75 speed on my laptop last month. It let me catch all the dialogue and still see the animation clearly without pausing every 10 seconds. Has anyone else tried messing with playback speed or found another way to handle subbed shows better?

Yeah I did the same thing with Steins;Gate. 0.75 speed made those fast text conversations way easier to follow. Also tried putting the player on a second monitor so I could glance up quicker.

I tried the 0.75 speed trick on Paranoia Agent and it worked SO well for me I felt kinda dumb for not thinking of it earlier. My reading speed is honestly TERRIBLE so I usually miss half the punchlines in fast dialogue scenes and just nod along like I get it. Slowing it down a bit actually let me see the animation details I was totally missing before. Though I gotta admit watching everything at 75% speed makes me feel like I'm some old guy who can't keep up with the young kids anymore.
