Paid $2k for a lead list that was 80% wrong numbers

Tried it once and my list was mostly just me, my mom, and three people who thought they were signing up for a newsletter. Felt less like building a network and more like sending messages into a void. The whole thing just made me realize I'm better at talking to people than collecting them. Probably should have just stuck to commenting on stuff.

Unpopular opinion: Charging $150 an hour for my web design work got me better clients than my old $50 rate ever did.

Totally makes sense. It's a real filter. People who see that price tag often respect your time more from the start. They come in with a clear plan, not just a vague idea. My buddy in graphic design did the same thing and stopped getting those "my nephew can do this" type emails. It just changes the whole conversation.

Can we talk about how switching our payment terms changed our cash flow?

Was there any client pushback at all? That's a huge change in terms. I'm not surprised your cash flow got better, that's a lot of money coming in twice as fast. We tried moving to net 15 once and lost a couple of smaller clients over it. Net 30 seems like a solid middle ground that most professional clients will accept.

Thinking ahead: will remote work kill the 'water cooler' promotion?

Guess that's why my golf game's still terrible, no office to network in!

My 2015 method for unclogging a sink involved a coat hanger and a lot of hope, but after a plumber in Canyon charged me $200, I now own a $40 drain snake.

Did he ever find a fix that actually worked?
