That free anime site I trusted just vanished overnight

Had a whole list of classic shows saved on this streaming site I used for like 2 years. Went to watch Fist of the North Star last Tuesday and the domain was dead. No warning, no backup of my progress. Had to start over on a different platform and lost track of where I was in 3 series. Anyone else lose their watch history when a site goes under? How do you keep track of episodes when that happens?

Did you ever think these sites would just poof like that? Honestly, I always figured the good ones stuck around, but losing my place in like four shows taught me different. Now I just write episode numbers in my notes app, boring but safe.

Did you keep track of every show you were following, or did some of them just slip your mind completely? I got burned the same way a couple years back, lost my spot on three different series and one I never even found again. It's funny how you think you'll remember, but then the site dies and suddenly the details just vanish. Do you write down just episode numbers, or do you jot notes on the plot too in case you need a refresh?
