The anime club president at my local library in Fresno told me to skip filler arcs and it changed how I watch long shows
I was at the Fresno library anime meetup last month and the club president, Marcus, saw me struggling through episode 180 of a long shonen show. He told me most of those episodes were anime-only filler and pointed me to a guide that listed which ones to skip. I went from dreading each episode to finishing the whole series in two weeks. Does anyone else use filler lists or do you watch everything in order no matter what?
Man, I wish someone had told me this years ago! I bailed on Bleach around episode 60 something because I felt like nothing was happening. Turns out I was sitting through a whole filler season about some fake captain or whatever. So here's my question though, how do you decide what counts as filler when the show mixes it in? Like Naruto has chunks you can skip easy, but some shows sneak filler right into the middle of a real arc. Do you just trust the guide, or do you read what each skipped episode is about first to make sure you're not missing anything good?
