The 'skip the OP' trick actually saves time
I used to think people who said to skip the opening credits and recaps in shows like One Piece were just impatient. But after binging the Marineford arc in three days, I realized I saved about 4 hours total. Has anyone else noticed how much filler recaps add in longer series?

Question if it's really saving that much time when you could just fast forward through those parts anyway. The Marineford arc is what, 30 something episodes? Cutting the intro and recap saves maybe 3 minutes an episode. That's like an hour and a half tops, not four hours.

But have you ever actually tried fast forwarding every single time though? Honestly @foster.tessa, I used to do that and it got annoying real quick, especially when you're binging on your phone and the controls are fiddly. Ngl, having a fan cut saves me from having to touch my screen every 20 minutes, which adds up when you're watching 5-6 episodes in a row. Plus, I think people underestimate how much those recaps mess with the pacing of a fight like Luffy vs Akainu. Tbh, even saving an hour and a half across the whole arc is worth it to me, because that's literally a whole movie I could watch instead.

Wait, hold on. Are you seriously telling me people watch the full intro and recap every single time? I thought we all just skipped that stuff by default. Like, even back when I watched on DVD I'd hit the skip button. And binging on a phone? The controls are literally right there on the screen, you tap the forward button twice. It takes like two seconds. I just don't see how that adds up to being annoying. Saving an hour and a half across a whole arc is nothing when you're already sitting through 10+ hours of content. That's like saying you saved money by not buying a soda at the movies.
