PSA: I just hit 50 dryer belt replacements and noticed a weird pattern

I was cleaning out my work van last night and counted my old parts bin. Turns out I've swapped out exactly 50 dryer belts this year alone. What got me was that 38 of those were on machines less than four years old. The belts aren't wearing out from age, they're snapping because people are overloading like crazy. I saw one last week where a customer jammed a king size comforter in a basic capacity dryer. The motor strain must have been huge. It makes you think, are the new machines just built too light, or are we all just pushing them too hard? Has anyone else seen a big jump in these simple fixes on newer units?

Honestly, I think it's both, the machines and the overloading.

Yeah, I read an article about how new motors can't handle the old load limits.

Guess my dryer belt broke from all the jeans I cram in there.
