Stop blaming the refrigerant when it's the line set that's wrong
Three callbacks this month alone, all for units that held pressure fine but never cooled right. First one was a 30 foot run using 1/4 inch lines on a 2 ton system, second had a kink from a bad bend, third had the high side routed over a hot water pipe. I checked pressures, temps, everything looked normal until I measured the actual line set lengths and sized them out. Manufacturers publish those charts for a reason, but too many guys just replace the compressor or add gas and walk away. When did we stop doing the math on line sets before condemning the sealed system? Anyone else tracking return temps after correcting the lines?
