Bought a $300 stump grinder attachment that broke after two jobs
I got it for a rental property cleanup in Phoenix, thinking it would pay for itself fast. The teeth snapped on a tough oak root and the dealer said the warranty didn't cover 'commercial use'. Anyone know a good brand for small grinding jobs that can handle hard wood?

Check the torque specs on your tractor's PTO before you buy another one. A lot of those cheap attachments are built for lower horsepower and Phoenix hardwoods will just eat them.

Wait, they're using brittle metal for stump grinder teeth? That's just asking for trouble.

Ugh, that warranty runaround is total garbage. I saw a YouTube review where a guy tested a bunch of those cheap stump grinder attachments. He said the metal they use for the teeth is basically junk, it's too brittle. For Phoenix hardwoods, you need something built way tougher. I'd look for brands that specifically say they use forged steel teeth, not just hardened. That might cost more upfront but it won't leave you with broken parts after two jobs.
