Had a 60 foot oak drop a limb on my fence Tuesday and learned my throw line aim is garbage
Was taking down a dead leader over on Maple Street when my throw line kept landing 4 feet short of the crotch, and a gust knocked a 9 inch limb loose before I even had my climb line set. Ended up fixing a bent chain link post with a come along instead of finishing the removal that day. My ground guy keeps telling me to just use a Big Shot, but I swear it's my shoulder angle. Anyone got a trick for hitting high crotches when the tree's leaning away from you?
