Hit 10,000 tree removals this month and it got me thinking

I was going through my job logs the other day and realized I just crossed 10,000 removals since I started in 2008. That number seems wild to me. I mean I never kept count until a buddy asked how many trees I've actually taken down. So I added it up. Most of those were in the Portland area. Some big oaks some little maples. A lot of them were ash trees from that whole emerald ash borer wave. Idk it just made me stop and think about all the close calls I had in those first few hundred jobs. Has anyone else ever counted up their numbers like that? What made you realize how much experience you actually had?

That whole emerald ash borer wave" hit us hard here too. Numbers like that really put things in perspective.

Nah, it's just nature doing its thing. We'll bounce back.

Oh man, it's brutal. We lost almost all our big ash trees along the main street in just a few years. The town spent a fortune cutting down dead trees and planting new ones. It's wild how fast one little bug can change the whole look of a neighborhood.
