inPSA: A full trash can of cape covers made me see our shop's waste problem
Hey Oliver, I read that some cities are banning those tiny hotel shampoo bottles.

inI started learning basic Python for 30 minutes a day and it's already helping me feel less replaceable at my warehouse job.
It's funny how the best job security now is learning to talk to the machines.

inTried that 'mortar slush' trick on a chimney rebuild last month
Yo, that slush dip is basically a cheat code for suction rate. Your old boss had the right idea with wetting, but a quick dunk targets the problem directly. On a hot day, a dry brick will suck the water out of your mortar before it can even grab hold. That thin slurry on the brick face stops that instant thirst. It's not about making it wet, it's about stopping it from being a sponge. Lets the mortar cure properly for a change.

inThat old oak dresser with the milk paint took me three days to strip clean
That milk paint is basically glue. I had a green dresser that took a full week. The stripper just turned it into a sticky mess. A cabinet scraper was the only thing that worked, and even then it came off in rubbery chunks. Sometimes the old methods are the only answer.

inHot take: I think the 'tap test' for compressor windings is a waste of time compared to a proper meter check.
Honestly that tap test is still my first move every time. A meter tells you if the windings are good, but it doesn't tell you if the rotor is actually free. Heard a solid "clunk" and you know it's seized before you even grab your tools. Sounds like that tech in Tampa might have just been hearing things, but ditching the tap completely is throwing out a good, fast check.
