That old oak in Salem taught me a lesson about rigging
We were taking down a big limb over a garage and my block slipped right as the cut went through. The whole thing swung down and put a dent in the roof. I had to go up, re-secure everything, and finish the job feeling like a rookie. Anyone else had a rigging point fail at the worst moment?

What type of block were you using?

Honestly, does the brand of block even matter that much? If the setup was solid it shouldn't have moved.

Was it the block itself or the anchor point that slipped? I mean, I've seen guys blame the gear when the real problem was a weak crotch or not enough wraps on the porty.
