The barista who remembered my coffee order after 2 years
Walked into a coffee shop in Portland I hadn't visited since 2022, and the barista just nods and says 'one oat latte, extra shot' before I even opened my mouth. I asked how on earth she remembered that, and she said I tipped $1.50 once and she never forgets a good tipper. Has anyone else had a stranger's memory freak them out like that?
That $1.50 basically bought her brain space, which says a lot about how we remember people based on tiny moments of kindness, not the big ones. It's wild how a stranger can hold onto a detail about you longer than you hold onto it yourself.
