Can we talk about the $180 hot glue gun I bought for plastic bumper tabs
I picked up one of those fancy hot glue guns at a body supply shop in Columbus last month because the counter guy swore it would hold bumper tabs better than anything. Well, first job out in the sun, every tab I glued popped right back off by the next afternoon. I looked at the receipt and it was $180, plus $40 for the special plastic sticks they said I needed. A $12 tube of panel bond and some scuffing would have done the job right from the start. The worst part is I watched their demo on a cold piece of plastic, not a hot bumper cover sitting in a parking lot. I ended up drilling and zip tying the tabs instead and it has held fine for 3 weeks now. Anybody got a glue or bond they actually trust on bumper tabs in summer heat?
