Shop mentor swore by the $40 harbor freight paint gun, I doubted it hard
My lead guy in Columbus kept saying the cheap HVLP gun lays down single stage just as flat as the $800 ones, and after 6 months of watching him use it on customer cars I finally tried it on a Chevy C10 fender. That thing actually sprayed the metallic evenly with zero runs, and the clear laid down like glass, so now I'm wondering if the expensive guns are even worth the cash. Has anyone else ditched a high end gun for a budget one on real production work?
