Guy at the car wash in Boise told me to stop drying my truck with an old beach towel, and I finally get why
Last month I was drying my truck at a self serve bay in Boise and this older guy in a beat up Tacoma pulled up next to me. He watched me drag a crusty beach towel across my hood for about a minute, then walked over and asked how long I'd been doing it that way. I said years, and he just pointed at all the fine swirl marks in the paint under the street light. He handed me a clean microfiber and said the towel was basically sandpaper, then showed me the right way to blot instead of wipe. Now I'm wondering how many of those swirls are permanently cooked into the clear coat, anyone been able to buff something like that out by hand?
