That $80 ceramic coating kit I bought online basically did nothing

I watched like 5 YouTube videos and spent a whole Saturday on it. Followed every step, did the IPA wipe down, let it flash right, everything. After 3 weeks I noticed water wasn't beading up at all, and then I saw the bottle I got had been sitting on a shelf for who knows how long. The stuff was probably expired or just bad. I wasted a full afternoon and 80 bucks and my car looks the same as before. Anyone have a brand of spray sealant that actually holds up for more than a month?

Ron from two doors down said I had to do it in full sun for the wax to 'cure right.' I was out there in 90 degree heat last Saturday, slapping on some new paste wax I got. The stuff baked on in like 3 minutes flat and left these horrible hard streaks everywhere. Took me 2 hours to buff out with a microfiber, and my arms still hurt. Was filling up at the Shell on Main Street yesterday and this guy starts wiping his bug-splattered windshield with this crusty rag he found on the ground. He finished, then tried to 'help' by wiping a smudge off my hood with the same rag. Left micro-scratches that I spent 2 hours buffing out this morning. Has anyone else had to deal with random people touching your paint at gas stations?

I was at the local Cars and Coffee meet last Saturday in Aurora and this dude pulls up in a brand new 911 Turbo S. Out comes a bucket of soapy water and a yellow Scotch-Brite sponge from the kitchen aisle at Walmart. Swear to God he started scrubbing the hood in circles like it was a casserole dish. I stood there watching for a full minute and not one person walked over to stop him. I wanted to say something but it was his car and I didn't want to start a fight. But come on guys, that sponge has a scrubby side that will absolutely destroy clear coat. Ive spent way too much time and money on proper microfiber mitts and two bucket methods to see that kind of thing. Has anyone else witnessed this level of negligence at a meet and just had to bite their tongue
