inShoutout to the chatbot at my bank who gaslit me into paying a late fee I didn't owe
Holy cow, that's wild! So when the bot says everything is fine, but it's just covering up a glitch, are we basically training these things to be compulsive liars because being nice is programmed as more important than being accurate? I wonder if the people who design these bots even test what happens when the AI is wrong about something that costs you real money, like a bounced check or a late fee. At what point does a "helpful" lie become fraud if the company knows the bot is giving out bad info but doesn't fix it? This whole thing makes me paranoid to trust any automated message from a company now.

inStruggled for 2 hours trying to pierce my own helix at a weird angle
Tbh I tried using a friend once and they were way too nervous about it. They kept hesitating and my ear was just throbbing from that anticipation. Ended up doing it myself again anyway. Three mirrors sounds like a solid plan though, might have to raid my bathroom for that next time.

inStop telling people to close old cards
People always act like closing a credit card is the end of the world, but it's the same logic as never cleaning out your closet. Keeping a card you don't use just clutters up your financial life, and that little dip in your score usually bounces back fast. Its really not worth stressing over a card you forgot existed for the sake of some imaginary perfect number.

inDropped $80 on a VPN that logged my data anyway
Wait, you actually thought "anonymized" meant they wouldn't track anything? That word in privacy policies pretty much always means they strip your name but still log activity. Every VPN I've seen does this to some degree - they need some data to troubleshoot issues or prevent abuse. SecureSurf's policy is actually pretty standard. The bigger problem is you paid $80 without reading what you agreed to. Next time check the fine print before handing over your card info, or at least pick a provider that's been audited by a third party.

inVent: Blew $400 on a fancy laser level that barely worked in the sun
Dropped a level once and it never worked the same again.
