Saw a guy at the Kansas City car wash drying his paint with a beach towel
Stopped at a self serve wash on State Line Road last Saturday and the guy next to me pulled a full size beach towel out of his trunk to dry his black Civic. I watched him drag it across the hood twice and the swirl marks were already showing in the sun. I get wanting to save money but a $12 waffle weave towel would have done less damage than that thing. Am I wrong for wanting to say something, or do you just let people learn the hard way?
A full size beach towel? That thing is like sandpaper with a fancy label on it. The part that kills me is he dragged it across the hood twice, so the first pass was the mistake and the second pass was a choice. On black paint no less, which shows every single scratch under the sun. Save the twelve bucks now and pay a detailer three hundred later, solid plan.
