Foam cannon vs. two bucket method on my black Tacoma, and I was wrong about which one worked better

I tried both on my black 2019 Tacoma last Saturday in my driveway in Phoenix, using the same soap and same mitt, and the two bucket method left way fewer swirls than the foam cannon. The cannon was fun and fast but it just pushed dirt around, while the two buckets let me rinse the mitt between panels and keep the grit at the bottom. Anyone else find that the old school method beats the new gear for dark paint?
