Heard a kid at O'Reilly say 'it's just a battery' and I winced

Some teenager was grabbing a group 65 for his truck and told his buddy it's just a battery, no big deal. I've pulled enough dead cells out of Fleetwood RVs in Flagstaff to know those things can ghost you at 2am in the cold. The real lesson I keep coming back to is that voltage checks tell you almost nothing about cranking amps under load. Anyone else have a cheap load tester that saved your butt more times than you'd expect?

Its just a battery" is like saying "its just an alternator." Yeah, right. Until you're stranded in a parking lot at midnight.
