Walked into a shop in Tucson that still uses breaker points on classic cars

Honestly, seeing a 1960s Ford running points and a condenser made me realize how much easier modern EFI is. Has anyone else run into shops that refuse to touch anything without a computer?

Used to think points and carbs were simpler and better to work on. Then helped a buddy tune his 69 Mustang and spent three hours messing with dwell and timing just to get it to idle right. Instant reminder why I prefer just plugging in a laptop.

@kai_webb91 nailed it with that Mustang story! Had almost the exact same nightmare with a 1965 Impala a few years back. Spent a whole Saturday chasing points gap and dwell angle and it still ran rough. Made me really appreciate just firing up the laptop and letting the ECU handle everything. Honestly, those old shops in Tucson are cool for nostalgia but give me a modern OBD2 port any day of the week!

You ever had to gap points with a matchbook cover in 110 degree heat? There's a reason guys my age carry a dwell meter in their glovebox. Modern EFI spoils us, I'll take any computer controlled system over chasing a 30 year old tune any day.
