Booked a carrier for my Civic on a Tuesday, and by Friday the quote jumped $340
I got three quotes to move my car from Phoenix to Denver and picked the middle one at $780, locked in on a Tuesday. Four days later that same broker called back wanting $1,120 because he said the first truck bailed and the new one wanted more, and I found out later he never had a truck assigned at all. The cheap quotes were bait and the 'guaranteed' pickup date meant nothing. How do you all vet a broker before handing over a deposit?
