Shoutout to the $650 broker quote that taught me to always get the carrier's price
Last summer I paid a broker $650 to move my truck from Phoenix to Denver and found out later the actual carrier only got about $400 of it. The guy was real smooth on the phone, said the price was locked, then my pickup date slipped a full week with zero calls back. When the driver finally showed up he told me he would have done it for way less if I'd called the company direct. Has anyone actually had a broker come in cheaper than going straight to a carrier, or is that just how they sell you?
