Warning: Our CRM data sync just completely failed during a client demo

It happened yesterday afternoon while I was showing a potential client in Chicago our reporting dashboard. The live connection to their test account just stopped pulling in new data, showing a blank screen. I had to pivot and talk through static slides for the rest of the hour. Has anyone else had a major system fail at the worst possible time, and what's your backup plan?
