Why I stopped bolting my raised beds together after a windstorm in Amarillo
Three Aprils ago a 60 mph gust hit my yard and ripped the screws right out of my 2x10 cedar beds, tossing dirt and pepper plants across the fence. I switched to 3/8 inch rebar pins hammered through the corners instead, and nothing has budged through two more bad storms since. Anyone else ditch hardware for pins, or am I just lucky with my soil?

Whoa, 60 mph ripped screws straight out of cedar? That is wild. Rebar pins through the corners sounds dead simple and tough as nails.
