Appreciation post: found out 'Troll 2' has zero actual trolls in it, so now I'm rethinking what makes a bad movie great
I was reading the IMDb trivia page for Troll 2 last Tuesday night and saw that the movie has no trolls anywhere, just goblins the whole time, and the director only called it Troll 2 to trick people into renting it. That got me into an argument with my buddy Dave at the pizza place on 5th, because he says that kind of trick is what makes a bad movie fun, while I think a movie should at least deliver the one thing in the title. So now I'm stuck between two sides here. Is a bad movie better when it lies to you on purpose, or when it just fails on its own by accident? Which one do you all think earns the label of so bad it's good?
