Just found a VHS copy of 'The Room' at a thrift store in Tulsa last week

Picked it up for $2. Couldn't believe it. Watched it with some friends Saturday night and we were losing it over the football scene. Has anyone else found a bad movie gem in a random thrift store lately?

Three years ago I found a Factory Sealed "Birdemic: Shock and Terror" DVD at a Salvation Army in Dallas for a buck. The wire hanger birds flying at the camera had me and my buddies wrecked for a solid ten minutes.

The real hidden gem in that Salvation Army haul is that Birdemic DVD might actually be worth something now, since the factory sealed ones are getting rare. People don't realize how those crappy movie DVDs shoot up in value once the movie gets a cult following online. You could probably flip it for 20 or 30 bucks to some collector who wants the original release with the terrible cover art. That wire hanger scene is legendary for all the wrong reasons, but the movie itself is a masterpiece of accidental comedy. Not many people know that the director James Nguyen made it for like 10 grand and refused to believe it was bad. Maybe check eBay next time you see one of those sealed bargain bin specials, you might be sitting on a little goldmine.

You talking about the football scene reminded me, I found a copy of "Troll 2" at a Goodwill in Oklahoma City once for like fifty cents. The "nilbog" part had us crying laughing.
