That $2 rental of 'Birdemic' from Family Video changed my whole movie night

I grabbed a copy of Birdemic: Shock and Terror on a whim last Friday and it killed the whole vibe. The awful green screen birds flying like cardboard cutouts had my buddy laughing so hard he spilled soda all over his couch. Has anyone else had a bad movie night go completely sideways like that?

Oh wow, I have to jump in here because I think you're missing the real tragedy of Birdemic. That movie is a masterpiece of unintentional comedy precisely because it's so bad. But here's the thing I haven't seen anyone mention: the director actually made that film as a serious environmental message movie. The awful special effects were supposed to be a wake up call about global warming, not a joke. I honestly think that makes it even funnier though. The whole thing is like watching someone try to give a very important speech while wearing a clown costume and tripping over their own feet. All the laughable stuff is just the icing on a very strange cake.

Yeah I mean I can barely get through a Powerpoint presentation without accidentally playing the slide transitions in the wrong order, so at least he made a whole movie, right? My attempts at serious messaging usually just end up as me crying in a parking lot over a half-eaten sandwich.

Oh man, nobody's talking about how the eagles themselves might be the real victims here... they had to sit through that production too. You can almost see them judging the acting between "attacks.
