The $3 VHS tape that made me question my whole movie taste
Found a beat-up copy of 'Troll 2' at a thrift store in Dayton for three bucks last month, and my kids and I laughed harder than at anything in theaters this year. The acting is so bad it loops back around to genius, and now I'm wondering if I've been too snobby about what counts as a good movie night. Anyone else have a cheap find that completely flipped their expectations?

Totally get this. My whole family still quotes lines from a dollar bin copy of 'The Room' we grabbed years ago. It made us realize that a movie night is less about technical perfection and more about the shared weirdness of watching something completely unhinged together. Honestly, that cheap tape gave us more inside jokes than any Oscar winner ever did. Sometimes the magic is just in the mess.
