My roomie in Austin ran a space heater and a hair dryer on one outlet, then acted shocked when it popped
She said the breaker was 'just sensitive' and kept resetting it, so I showed her the melted plug on our only surge strip. I unplugged her stuff and she sat in the dark for an hour to prove a point. Does anyone else live with someone who treats an electrical panel like a suggestion?
A 1500 watt heater on a 15 amp circuit is already pushing it, adding a hair dryer on top is asking for a fire. Get a new surge strip for sure, that melted one is done. And if she keeps resetting the breaker, flip the main and let her figure out which switch controls what, works every time.
